<p>MANILA — The national government has 5 million family food packs ready for dispatch as heavy rain led to flooding over the weekend and as PAGASA monitors two tropical depressions outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said.</p><p>Family Food Packs are meant <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/22/what-s-inside-dswd-family-food-packs-740">to meet the needs of a family of five</a> for two to three days.</p><p>DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said these food packs are stored in hubs across the country for quicker distribution when needed. </p><p>She said more than 805,000 boxes of the food packs are at the the Luzon Disaster Resource Center in Pasay City. More than 475,000 boxes of FFPs are in the Visayas Disaster Resource Center in Mandaue City in Cebu province and more than 196,000 are at the Mindanao Disaster Resource Center in Butuan City.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/8/9/habagat-batters-oriental-mindoro-floods-47-barangays-1249">Habagat batters Oriental Mindoro, floods 47 barangays</a></div><p>She said DSWD also had P1.6 billion in standby funds for disaster response operations.
